Idle problem?
OK i have a S-13 with a KADE24 engine that i just finished replacing the timing chain on it and everything is hooked right and i started it today for the first time in four or five months and she starts up just fine and will just fine when reving the engine. But when you let it idle she just dies. Like not enough fuel is getting to it or something. But i am not to sure that is the case. I am going through everything and checking everything that has to do with the idle system but i am not to sure what it might be. Any thoughts or suggestions?

try to turn up the idle a little bit, on the passenger side in the very back of the intake manifold on the side is the idle air control valve. you'll see a little phillips head screw, loosen that screw a little to raise the idle.

A vacuum leak would cause a high idle. I would check the idle air control, or adjust the idle up a little.

Double check your base timing too. I just recently did the same thing off my friends S14 and same situation also. Then I figured out I was off a tooth on the distributor.

worst that could happen is you stall, that's it. you can drive it arround. just get some throttle body/carb cleaner and clean it out. Also, clean your throttle body. Sometimes oil/gunk clogs it and gives you similar issues.

well the intake manifold is coming off since i dropped an extension down there and i cant get it out. plus i need to see if i really did screw up the IAC Valve. any suggestion on a quick and easy way of doing this? I have the factory manual and it doesn't give me a walk through procedure of how to. It just shows a brake down picture of that side of the engine.
