I wouldnt mind seeing a new conversion here in the U.S. The S15 and S13 convos are almost too common

how can you say that....i have never seen one on the road here in nj. When i start seeing them everywhere like you see honda and acura convo's then i will say they are played out, but until then I don't think they are common at all.

Wow,here in VA its rare just to see a S13/S14 ,almost all are modded, but I've yet to see any with ANY conversion in real life, the closest I've heard of one online was in a lower part of NC,I'd love me an S15 conversion on my '91 Fastback

anybody know what kind of work this "Fair80" conversion would involve?

where to get the parts and etc

Dude you forget we are east coasters, thus we don't se shit. It is a rule of automotive customizing. West = Import Shangrai La East = Jack shit. The best thing we get is the occasional, and I do mean occasional Exotic. Maybe for you it's a little different, but you see my point. East coast's idea of cool is a Blitz knockoff front on a eclipse with stock rims and a homebuilt shitty exhaust. And you wonder why the F-body and pony car guys laugh? Personaly I have never seen any conversion of any sort except for 2 JDM integra fronts. And believe me I am looking with the eyes of a hawk. I take this lack of representation personally.

YO! Sorry man,I used ot be one of those guys laughing,I sold my muscle car(1971 Chevelle Malibu,5.1L 307CI small block, Edelbrock performer intake, custom built Holley 750 carb, headers, dual 3inch exhuast all the way back w/ flowmaster muffs, 462 degree Competition cams cam,....) and went after my 240sx dream, nobody ever really gave me competition on the street, worth while, even the local S13/S14's were a joke at the light, the only stuff I wouldn't go after is the rare C5 vette,or even rarer Viper, well East Coast is getting better but we are still unfortunately filled up with hemi-fans and pony-car lovers

and you live where? heh....i dont need to many hawk eyes in Pittsburgh....during the summer ill see 911's, 360's, 355's, vipers...all over the place....I hate those people, lol.....and at hot import daze in Pittsburgh there were a decent amount of finely tuned machines,i just gotta support my town at least, me personally im not buying a knockoff kick, im going to rs-r for my exhaust, and OZ superleggera's(sp?) are going to be my wheels of choice....theres another kid from PA who had is s200 featured in super street(i think may have been scc) this car was serious...supercharged, fine tuned......all im saying is that you should stop concentrating on looking for them.....just figure out where to look

the front end isn't a 280z, it's a 240z....

people who live in west coast who claim to see alot of silvia conversion are giving you guys a lot of bullsh........t. they probably see all this folks on the forum that did it and then claim it's becoming common...believe me. you can go around browsing LA and the rest of SoCal, you'll be lucky to encounter a person with the conversion....

I live out here in San Diego... I hardly ever even see a 240sx
recently I have been seeing more, and I get people talking to me telling me how they want to get a 240 and put a sr20det in it :hammer: usually when I see a 240 its beat to hell. There is a 240 that has been sitting on the street in front of my old high school for a few weeks now, flat tire and some other stuff. but i very rarely see any modded ones unless I go to meet them.

Actually it could even be a 260 style if you want to get technical. Since the turn signals dont appear to be residing on the outside of the front fascia like a 240's I would have to say its either 260, 280, or 280zx based. Could be wrong though but, I have a 76 sitting in front of my house.

That is so sweet looking! I want one!

Lol you were right about the 240 look....it is way closer to a 240 than a 280!

I will have to see who sells this kit

If you find somebody that makesa kit...PM me or post it,...I love that blue one, although I'd have to swap those wheels off for Superleggeras or something,I don't like them...Its a sweet conversion,I think I would rather proble do S15 front-end conversion on my 91 Fastback, then again I like my pop-ups...

Very nice. I wonder how difficult it was to do this. Were they able to modify stock 240 or 280 parts or did they have to fashion their own? Eitherway it will definately separate you from the crowd.

my first car was a 1980 280zx...so i'm positive it's not a 280zx front...the 260z, 280z, and 240z have a similar front end oppose to the 280zx...the only difference is that the 260z and 280z both came with a reinforcement bumper while the 240z didn't...that's why i came with the conclusion that it was 240z rather then it's successors...feel free to correct if i'm wrong about the info, but i'm pretty positive about the info since i love the Z's lineup....
