Question easiest way to roll fenders

yes.. my tires rubbed my fenders.. prolly cuz i set my coilovers too low.. i dont want to set the coilovers any higher because IMO, this setup is just perfect..

now.. do you guys know the easiest way to roll fenders?
i heard you can use metal baseball bat..
but i dont have the guts to do it.. i might mess up the body work..
any suggestions or opinions?

i think im going to get myself a 1 inch diameter metal pipe and try to roll the fender myself..
right now i have one finger gap between my tires and my fenders

i use a wooden baseball bat because there is less chance of scratching the edge not the easiest but by far the cheapest

SAWZALL.

oh wait, you just wanted to roll them baseball bat should work fine, if you don't have enough room at your current ride height, trying jacking the car up enough for the fender gap to just fit the bat in but without lifting the wheel off the ground...

A 1 inch pipe?? I think a baseball bat is safer cuz a 1" dia pipe is too small and easier to leave a small sharp outie dent, whereas a bat is bigger and more spread out and wouldn't be as sharp...did that make any sense? Whatever

It depends on how good you want your body panels to look. My friend and i rolled his fenders SLOWLY with a wood baseball bat. It did roll them but when you looked hard you could see the fender had been slightly pulled and subsequently reshaped. That is why there are special fender rolling tools that won't pull ur fenders. But like i said, if you don't care, just use a bat.

Would it not be better to press it by making a wooden template and a support base taking the fender off and using a hydrolic jack to slowly press it into the roll....I guess the bat it;s cool...but one wrong strike, and whammoo.....fuc ked up fender.

I got an idea!!!...take tin snips and cut about 3 inches apart on the lip. Take a small ball peen hammer and gently tap it (or hard rubber mallet) to turn it down. If too thick (havent done it actually) take a hack saw and cut the grooves...work the metal ever so slightly to curve them in.

Be sure to paint the $hit out of the cuts to keep them from rusting out.

Think that will work???? cool>???

go to a shop to do it.

or this..

it can be had for only $350

after u buy that..go out and offer to do it for people at 25 bucks [usually 50 bucks a fender] and the thing will pay itself off over time.

if you wanna do it cheap, do the baseball bat method, but make sure you use a heat gun, or the paint WILL CRACK. take it very slow, and may the force be with you

its really not that hard, just take your time

Had a major brain fart....

Anyone care to explain to my slow self what fender rolling actually is? Heard about it so many times but never quite understood.
