resonator or straight pipe?

well i have a greddy exhaust with the resonator off a s14....the resonator hits every where and has a slight crack...im not sure if i should straight pipe it or buy a diff resonator

i found a magnaflow resonator that would fit good...but not sure how it would sound and i think the staight pipe would be to loud...anybody got any ideas let me know


oh and im running sr20det with tomei elbow and blitz downpipe

depends how loud u want it if it was me yah do the straight pipe would sound like a total beast

you could get one of those resonators that is wide instead of a can style, or get custom piping to make it higher up.

straight pipe shouldn't be too loud....then again i have headers and a straight 3" into a can style muffler on my KA, so i like it loud.

ive been pulled over for straight pipe and the neighbors always complain about it, so my suggestion is find a resonator

i just went straight pipe cause my car was too quiet haha and the fact my resonator was rubbing my ds

straight pipe = loud.

Anything resonated will dampen the sound, usually leading to somewhat quieter but deeper sound.

Oval canisters tend to act as better mufflers than N1 style cans.

Build according to your needs and tastes.

haha hell yea, thats what i am running

screw resonators. sr's are pretty quite anyways.

DC headers and XSPower 3" exhaust here on a KA. Man is that shit loud. I'm getting the fart can replaced with something a little more sane, or the test pipe probably fitted with a resonator.
