dual cam swap question, searched

alright, so i have a 92 vert, dual cam and auto, and i have 0 compression across the board

so i decided i'll pick up another dual with 5 speed while i'm at it

the new dual cam is off of a 96 s14, so i was wondering, other than all the basic 5 speed swap stuff (like how i need a manual speed sensor and all of that) will i be running in to any other problems with the swap? ecu, any extra plugs, any of that stuff?

i searched around and all i can find are single cam to dual cam swap info (ie. cluster swap and whatnot) but nothing as far as s13 dual cam to s14 dual cam... could have missed something but i've been looking around

thanks guys for any help, much appreciated!

-Garrett

if ur S14 KA is OBD-II, then u need some more work swapping the IM and etc...but you should have all the parts from your S13 KA anyway

This. You'll have to swap the distributor and intake mani. Your stock ecu will be fine. You may have to modify the harness or just swap a manual harness. If the trans is s14 also I believe they have an extra sensor (crank angle sensor).

You need to swap the s13 ones onto the s14 motor. You have a 92, that's obd1. The distributors are different in s13/s14 as well. My bro swapped an s14 ka into his 90 hatch, wasn't that bad. I don't know exactly what you have to do with the trans though, never used an s14 trans before.

leave the CAS on the tranny and leave it disconnected. or you can remove the CAS on the tranny and thread something through..

Yep, pretty much. Your car is already dohc so it's not hard to do.

There are tons of threads about this. You didn't search.

Use the S13 distributor, intake and exhaust manifolds. Only reason to use the entire intake is it's cleaner looking, otherwise you just swap the TPS and CTS and leave the extra stuff unplugged.
