Enkei PF01

Anyone seen this wheel yet? Saw one in a magazine ad recently. Looks an awful lot like a Work CR Kai.

Is it still a knockoff when a wheel maker who's somewhat "respected" (Enkei) makes a near-copy of a wheel that's made by a manufacturer who's more or less worshiped (Work)?

I'm curious, since this isn't like the Rota Torque or Drag DR31 (or whatever Drag's replica is called). I know there are those who really hate replica designs even if the manufacturing process used by the replica company is decent. Is this going to start a trend of hating on Enkei? Enkei, who make wheels that are acknowledged to be excellent, like the RPF1?

I hear it's supposed to be lighter than the rpf1, and a lot lighter than the cr kai

Can these wheels ONLY be mounted on S-Chassis or Z-Chassis vehicles?

yeah they look like cr kai's. but then again, lots of wheels look similar. what about the volk gt-v? oem G35 coupe? similar, but not the same. just because they looks similar doesn't mean they are knock off. i'd get the PF01's, depending on what offset they offer it in.

/\/\/\ garbage sizes?
you mean not "custom wheel" sizes?
i was pretty stoked with 17x10 +18 and 18x10.5 +18.
just because you can't have everything in negative 5million offset doesn't mean its crap.
personally, i don't think these look THAT much like cr-kai. more like rpf1 with only 10 spokes instead of 12. AND lighter than rpf1, which were already REALLY damn light to begin with. i will for sure purchase a set of these, provided the pricing is in the same range as rpf1s.

I'd take the Enkie, but I fear they'd bend too easy. Lightness comes at a price.

very similar, but easy to tell difference. hub center is smaller/closer to the lug holes. shape of the design between each spoke is rounder on the enkei, sharper more pointed on the cr's. both wheels look good imo but work's ftw

never said anything about negative offsets, you're just using a lazy strawman

and not all of their wheels are even available in 17x10+18 or 18x10.5+18; we dont even know if the new wheels will get those sizes and offets specifically

RP03s go 18*10 in low offsets as well as thier 17*10s. 17/18*9.5s though, suck. However, I've heard that these will come in those RPF1 sizes.

Ah that's nice!
As long as they're cheap, durable, and fit bbk's w/out spacers,
I can see myself getting a set in the near future.

I actually like the fact that it's not too flashy.
very oem looking imo.
wouldn't be surprised if the evo 9 enkie wheels were the same.

i think when Option said sizing, he meant offset. I think the general consensus is we don't like to see a +38 offset wheel here. But yes, Enkei does have some weird sizes...only the racing series do you see some fairly low offset. Still haven't seen any single digit goodness yet though I could be wrong.

the RPF1 comes in all those sizes

but not all their wheels do

specifically, the NT03 does not come in better than 18x9.5 +27 or 18x10+30

the RP03 only comes in 17x10+18 (nothing better in 17). Their 18in sizing is fine.

RP05 and FS01 doesn't come in offset lower than +25

the TM02, made by Enkei, lacks 17in sizes as well

mainly i want a 17x9.5 + 12 NT03

and i'm mad the RPF01 isn't concave enough

It's funny cuz the enkei RPF01 looks exactly like ame tracers......I had a set of bronze ame tracers way before RPF01's were even out.

There's quite a few companies that make knockoff wheels that ppl seem to overlook when they are Rota bashing. My personal favorite is when ppl diss the P45R and then say LMGT4 is too much so they'd rather get Bee*R B5. How is the B5 not a knockoff, too? Or Hanbai DT05R's too?

I dig the new Enkei, specifically how if has less holes than the Work wheel, which is always annoying to me. I mean, why have all those holes if the wheel isn't gonna be universal? But I won't be getting the PF01, since I won't be going 5 lug.
