kyb agx's with ground control's....help

i just got kyb agx's with ground control's and in the ground controls directions it says that you have to cut off the perch on the front shocks, can someone help me out here, this doesnt seem to make much sense to me cause then where would the spring rest? if anyone has this set-up and did it themselves any imput would be appreciated. thanks.

it's all in the instructions. u cut off the cup and there's a ridge left over that the sleeve will rest on, make sure u use the O-ring, maybe call up GC and ask for a couple more (that's what I did). Make sure you do something to keep the newly exposted steel from rusting, I cut mine, then painted them black... I have the only black AGX's I've seen, looks pimpin' with the AGX sticker on the side :P hehee

edit: make SURE you grind down the ridge that's left... you may also need to grind down the hex shaped top of the body (I don't remmeber if that was front or rear or both), or the sleeve won't fit over. Remember, sharp edges are bad!
