rear tail lights missing wire in harness?

So I got a fix it ticket for my rhd silvia for a tail light bulb, thankfully nothing else... But taking apart the trunk fabric i noticed a side running light (assuming) wire not connected to anything, so I look on the other side and same thing.
My questions: What are these lights, where do they hook up, and how can i properly wire it to work well as well as not look jimmied...

Huh?? You mean there is no harness connecting the side running lights to the rear tail lights?? They should be connected unless those AREN"T the original tail lights that came with the car. If that's the case & those aren't the original tail lights that came with the car, PROVIDED you are good at electrical wiring, then hooking them up shouldn't be a problem. All you have to do is tap into the existing running light circuit. Before you go thru all the trouble though, plug some bulbs into those side marker lights, use some alligator clips & a temporary 12 volt power supply to light up the bulbs. See if you like the look with the side marker lights powered up. If you do, then hook up the wiring. Just tap into the running light circuit from the back tail lights.

Anyhow hope this helps.
