Damm... these people have to chill.... we don't need this caping on each other's cars (unless it really is crap, but hey if you can't afford anything else then so be it)... I've got friends that drive everything.... from Bronco's to Beetles, Integ Type R to Camaro SS.....

Personally..... put the drag racing aside..... go for a nice drift run in the mountains.... Initial D style

Note: the other day I went driving with my friend (he's got a 87 RX7 turbo) and I'm in my POS 89 Celica ST keeping up with him and I had a drift about 10 feet w/ all 4 wheels this is according to my other friend riding in a BMW 325 behind me.... Driving in the hills is good stuff That also goes to show, it doesn't always mean a more powerful car is faster.... "because anyone can go fast in a straight line"

Peace dudes

[LoL]... the civic would probably beat that C5 in an Auto X anyways, and a bunch of 240's...

You don't need an FR car to drift... "because anyone can slide there car into a curb."

i swear........those GM/Ford guys are so ignorant. follows is the jist of a "conversation" i had with a fellow employee a couple weeks ago

tnord: hey jon, what the hell is under that hood, it sounds fast
jon: it's a formula firebird with the LT1 (or LS1 i can't remember)
tnord: that kinda sucks, all the formula's had automatics right?
jon: yeah, it'll still rape you though
tnord: in a straight line yeah, bring it out to (local road course), it'll be interesting
jon: are you kidding, i'll kill you in this thing
tnord: jon, the car's fast in a straight line, not left and right
jon: all you guys with your honda's/mazda's/nissan's think you're so fast, this car would make you all cry
tnord: jon are you that oblivious to try and tell me that you think this car was built to do anything but go straight?
jon: this car is faster than yours in every way
tnord: in stock form maybe, but as i have it set up now i'll eat you alive through the corners, and besides, the only way those genius engineers at GM could make the damn thing corner at all is put bigger tires on it, that's not clever at all

all these domestic V8 rednecks (sorry for the stereotype) think those damn F-body's are the greatest thing in the world and refuse to acknowledge any flaw the car has, despite the fact that i admitted that the firebird would leave me in the dust in a straight line.......a lot of these american muscle guys really make me mad

I think it was all in good fun for the guys who raced. Kinda reminds me of myself. When you talk smack and get cocky, you might as well go all out. That doesn't work if your a sore looser though. I think the C5 was just trying to hype it up thinking he would win and the Si was playing like he wasn't sure if he would win, even though he knew he had a beast. Pretty entertaining actually.

Try dealing with big truck driving rednecks. (believe me, around here, i'm entitled to use the term, and yes, I mean it) These guys all think that their truck is the fastest thing on the road just because it has a glasspack muffler. I'll admit that there are some around here that are REALLY powerful, but most of them are CRAP. I'm planning on shutting a lot of em up this summer.

yeah bro, i kinda wanted to punch him in the face too, if hes so rich and money is so little, then why is he driving a POS C4. The ugliest and least desired corvette made (except the ZR1). I'd like to walk up and urinate all over his fucking car too, all up in the interior and shit, then tell him to fuck off and use his money to rent a made to clean the bitch of my piss cuz hes to rich and wealthy to do it himself

you know... I've had friends tell me 240sx guys seem arrogant too. I think it just goes with the territory... penis replacement. every guy has to have a better car than everyone else and we just get primative, even draconian in our communication.

as for the F-body cars... yea, they are 3500lb monsters. But just to note, I heard to new Cobras have IRS and can really corner now. I think it's just the resource people put into their cars. Not too many guys buy pony's so they could go drift or grip somewhere, they enjoy speed. I'm just like you Tnord, I care more about the speed in which I go through a corner than in a straight line, so that's why I got the car I did. If I wanted pure speed tho, I would have gone for a mustang. A lot easier and cheaper to get a mustang into the 11's in a 1/4 than any japanese car. Just what people want.

but as for being pricks...I still have to give it to Supra guys

I find it funny that we have 1.6 litres competing with like5.7 or whatever. Its funny how that c5 needs 8 cylanders to go as fast as the civic. Imagine if the c5 had 4 cylanders? I would walk it in a geo prism 3 cylander! just my .02 cents. Thanks

now imagine if that c5 were setup for a twin turbo (dreaming of lingenfelter vette) if a normal c5 had half the cylinders, it would have 172.5, still more than a 240sx, and no geo is walking me lately

Not one thing wrong with corvettes. I am a "redneck" my dream car is a 68 chevelle SS396, but I love my 240 with all I got. I would never trade it on anything. I don't hate muscle cars(except mustangs) I love them. There's nothing wrong with going to hell in 10 sec in a stright line. Theres nothing wrong with taking a 30mph corner at 70 but takeing 15 seconds to get to hell. It would be nice to
never mind you get my point
even if it is
