Trans stabbing issue
I am the process of reintalling my tranny after a clutch swap and just was able to stab the trans and get it to meet the moto and be completely flush. The thing is, the trans seems to be slightly out of position, maybe turned 5-10 degrees so the holes do not line up to feed the bolts through. I have tried twisting it but it just wont budge and stays 5-10 degrees off center.
Am I going to have to restab the entire trans? Or, is it possible that the trans is in gear ( I don't remember that it was for removal) and I just have to get it out of gear in order to twist the trans into position? |

when i had mine out it was in gear but we got it in ok. id try getting it out of gear if you can first. just to save the hassle of putting it in all over again.

you got it all level/elevated at the tail end? I had this issue with my trans in my truck, but that bitch was like 3-400 pounds, I had to put a jack on the tail and then get a buddy to help me turn and push it. it was a bitch but finally went. maybe thats happening to you?...
I would just keep everything level and slowly wiggle and work it till it moves. is the pilot bushing new? and did you put a little grease on the shaft? I cant see you having to actually pull it back off to restab it. seems like it should just go but is just hanging up on you
