AHHH The Ticking !!
ok i was just at the shop with my car and we were talking about the ticking from the valves, from what i heard the valvues on a SOHC were hydrolic.. now the motor i put in my car was im sure sitting for a while, now if i run the motor for a wile is it possible that the valves will fill back up and stop ticking?

yes. make sure you have the proper amount of oil in your engine, not to much not to little. when you start it, its going to be loud. run it a 2000 rpm untill the ticking stops (5-15min). that is the procedure for bleeding the lifters. if the lifters continue to click some may be damaged. is the engine rebuilt? there is a very good chance some may be bad if they are not all brand new or low mileage
