Check engine light no work on sr20det?

Ok i followed the wiring just as srswap.com says and still no check engine light, i have yet to see it light up. I know the ecu requires the wire from the light to run to it, but i can only find the wire on the car side. its a red wire according to my fsm but what pin does it go to on the sr20det redtop ecu? thanks

There is no CEL for SR......run the codes off of the ECU.

SR

I would say do a search. I know this has been covered on this page before. If you can't find it Search Google, and you should be able to find the code page for sr's. If I had mine with me I would give the site to you. I'll check later.

"check engine" is a light mostly for emissions. sure, you can get other error codes off of the ECU but in US cars, the concept of check-engine has always been to scare customers into running back to the dealership thinking their car needs serious work, when its really just EGR or something silly.

Check engine = crap. Pop your hood, check to see your motor is still ther = done. Congratulations, you checked your motor.

For anyone who cares , a Snap-On Mt2500 scan tool works with the SR computer. I don't know about diagnostics, but it will pull, and clear codes. The monitor function also works. Just make sure you have the wires that connect the engine harness to the body harness wired properly.

Ohh, I use a 1993 DOHC 240sx vin on the scan tool.
