Hmmm dont know whether to post this on the off topic or loud noises thread. Anyways read that they are thinking of a 2D/3D image of a girl running across a parking lot to get people to stop. Oh and this is being discussed and the idea presented in Canada. My thoughts are yehy for no speed bumps but really not going to work~

Pros: Less speed bumps around

Cons: People will probably disregard the image after a while and end up actually running over kids etc.

What do you think Zilvians?

the pic they show is wack. why would a girl play chase after a ball in a parking lot?

idea is nice, but if the idea is to have it by a school, why not show a sample pic of it by the school?

wouldn't the image look distorted if it is done on gravel streets and not as clear? the streets around my area are janky as shit and no way the image will come out this clear.

hahaha i LOL'd on that one. a simple change in color for speed bumps is good enough imo. ive seen parking lots that paint them yellow, white, or they paint stripes on to them. Signs never hurt either, especially when there are plenty of them before hand.

A better idea would be to create a false image of a speed bump. That way, when you don't see it anyway, you don't flip your toyota prius hybrid on its roof.

Exactly people will think it is an illusion when it is a real child.

Not to mention, what about people who don't notice it because they are texting or whatever. Then last minute look up, only to see what they think is a child.

Then they will more than likely swerve. Possibly crash and injuring a real child.
