Turbo kit parts from a Mitsibishi Eclipse
My friend is parting out his 1997 Mitsibishi Eclipse GS-T (FWD) and he'll give me any turbo parts for free.
I'm trying to peice together a cheap kit for my s13. What will I need to remove from his car to add to my turbo kit collection. I'm a major newb on turbocharging. So far I have the turbo and side-mount intercooler. |

take ALL intercooler piping, intake piping, sidemount intercooler, BOV (take to dsm shop and get spring crushed so it can handle more boost, 2g bov sux a d*ck) and flange piping, turbocharger, injectors (might need custom fuel rail, they are 450cc and might not fit into stock ka rail) snag some misc. small hosing and stuff to run vaccum lines to boost controller etc. my old car was built pretty much from a 1g tsi, so all this will def work... it may not look the best but it will def work. good luck!

Make sure you don't rule out the expense of an exhaust manifold, you are still looking at $400-500 for that. . .

i being told quite a few times oil cooled are better, but i tend to think water cooled are safer in terms of spill and leaks. am i right?

guys, thanx for ya time to clue me in.
it's been helpful. I wonder if it's cheaper to also take the exhaust manifold from the eclipse, cut the t25 flange off and use it for my custom exhaust manifold fabricated at a exhaust shop. Is that a good idea, cheaper of worth it? |

You can run the dsm turbos without coolant lines. I just ran the oil lines on my setup. plug the coolant line inlet and outlets. all you have to do is be more careful with turbo timing and also the turbo is going to run a LITTLE hotter so you might want to be extra careful with clearance issues.

All of the DSM turbos have oil AND water lines going to them. I don't think that was stated clearly above.
Also, good luck getting the DSM T25 to blow less then 11psi of boost. No one seems to make a wastegate actuator for the turbo that will work at less boost then that. Just be prepared to deal with that boost level and the associated amount of heat it'll make with a 2.4L engine. If it can even keep up. I think you would be better off with a 14b. You can find those in good condition for less then $100.
