A good starting point??? Help
Hello zilvia members,
I recently purchased my first 240. 1995 240sx SE KA24DE powered AUTO. This is my first time every attempting at building a car. My goal is to make this car mainly for track use and occasional meets. (Daily: '13 Subaru STI). Ive been having a really hard time on where to start on the build. I figured I would just do a quick 5 speed swap and run the car as a KA until my learning curve for the S-chassis improves. Of course with a SR swap later down the line. I guess where Ive been stuck is what to upgrade after the swap? Should I address parts as needed? Should I start with full suspension? Or just focus on making sure the engine is running tip top condition? Im more concerned with making sure I dont start a section of the car where it depletes my funds and slows down my builds progress. Not sure if this makes sense, but any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! ![]() |

1: we have no idea what your budget is
2: when you say "track use" that's suuuuuuuper vague. Are you going to auto-x? Road courses? Setting up a car for Big Willow or Buttonwillow will be quite different than a parking lot cone course. 3: we have no idea what your mechanical ability is. Now. 1: replace the radiator with a Koyo. Don't waste your money on mihimoto 2: buy some good coilovers. Powertrix is in San Diego and they make excellent track spec versions 3: buy good brake pads and brake fluid. I highly recommend you contact John Capati at Corner3 in OC. He runs the Nissan Challenge series and has quite a bit of experience with setting up track cars. |
