Tires wont grip

I have a set of Michelin Harmony tires on the back of my s13. They came with some SE wheels i picked up, both have about 85% tread left. Whenever its wet out side if make a sharp turn or turn fast my back comes out. sucks driving when its wet outside. They are directional tires, i have them mounted with the arrow facing towards the front of the car.
What do you guys think? And this is me just casually driving, not like im driving crazy or anything

Sigh......

You have a rear wheel drive vehicle. If you make sharp quick turns most likely your rear end will "kick out" as you say, especially on a wet surface when there is rain.

Also, I'm sure its like 185 or 195/65 so you aren't exactly putting down the contact patch needed to grip and especially on some tires like the ones you have on the back of your car.

Here is how you should fix the problem.

1.) Slow down
2.) Stop making quick sharp turns
3.) Learn how to drive a rear wheel drive vehicle
4.) Man the fuck up

Good luck with driving

That's your problem right there. Just slow down. Save money, and use them until they are worn out.

and now for real questions. What tire pressure. What size tires. How old are these "used" tires. Is anything modified. Is your alignment accurate. Do you hand over hand when turning. Have you sang "I feel pretty" lately. and lastly.....are we talking about heavy rain...or light drizzle?

Also having a wider tire doesn't make a bigger contact patch when its wet out.

^^^^^what? seriously. do tires shrink when it's wet out or something? put a 255 on your car and put a 195, go drive in the rain, guarantee the 255 handle's better. facepalm.

Look to your left when making a right. Or look to your right when making a left turn. It's a 240SX it has large door windows so you can comfortably look through them and steer the car.

Damn i got flammed bad lol

Ive been driving this car for three years. Ive gone through afew sets/brands of tires. And with this particular tire it has me all over the place in the rain. I guess i can try lowering my tire psi and i guess ill have to drive it alot slower.

Shitty tires are shitty tires...invest on some better tires. Go baller with some Advan AD08s or Dunlop Star Specs. You'd be surprised what good tires would do on these cars...

I've ran Dunlop Star Specs. Definitely one of my favorite tires.

OP, you already got a good amount of responses. You pretty much answered your own question within your own post.

Search next time.
