Question looking to buy 240sx

I'm looking to buy a 240, but there is somethings I would like to know first.

1) how easy are there to mod, find parts, and get into atleast 13's?

2)what motors are the best for wheel h.p. and boost?

3)how much do these cars weigh?

I had a probe but had to sell it when I moved to AZ. I loved the car but could not stand the loss of traction, and whell hop.also any pics of the engine bay and interior would be great. thanx

You'll have to excuse him. Well, all of us. in the past year the 240sx has gotten really popular. Not only do alot of people not like this, but the questions you are asking get brought up every 5 days or so. You can find alot by searching.

That said, there are quite a few different 240sx's. They can weigh from 2,600 to a hair over 3,000 (convertible, loaded up, right?). Different styles and generations were offered. Try www.socal240sx.org in the FAQ once you decide what year/model you want.

Finding parts is pretty easy. Lots of support here and off shores. Search for some shops.www.cipmotorsports.com, www.pdmracing.com and www.enjukuracing.com for example are great shops.

It's not a drag car, it's more geared for twists and turns. If you insist on running 13's, I am sure that can be done with a heavily modded SR or KA-T. I wouldn't know though. Again, the answer lies in the search button.

For boost? Iw ould say SR and not KA, but that is a holy war. Check the thread in the FAQ forum.

Also, if you want traction, get an after market LSD or try (good luck) to find a factory VLSD.

Welcome to the world of 240's

Jeff

No probelm. I am actually about to write an FAQ for new buyers. I figure it would be less work that typing this up all the time.

Besides the search here:
www.freshalloy.com has 3 240sx forums, one is a "best of." They have a good search too.

www.socal240sx.org and www.240sx.org both have great FAQ's. Socal has the brocures for each year scanned, which is darned cool.

Feel free to ask any more questions here at Zilvia. Some people flame newbs, but don't worry about it.

Jeff
