What would you do with $15k?

What would you do on your SR20DET powered 240sx with 15k?

Well, since I don't have an SR powered 240SX, I'd put it towards school and use the money I make from my job to buy stuff for my KA powered high performance machine.

I'd put that 15k into my Mustang and run 10's easy, if not 9's daily driver.

for looks ... s15 front end conversion

for speed ... use the money to track the car until the engine blows and buy another one. u'll come out a much better driver after two engines and the hours all the leftover money can buy you.

I would use 10g's for heavy bribing untill i knew i wasn't going to jail. I would spend the rest on the rest of it to finish paying for my kA-T. TO4B, maybe actually start off with some pretty APexi and nice injectors.
if not just just it converted to 1's and fill up a breif case and carry it everywhere

15k establish a trust fund for poor boy S13/s14 owners so they can actually play with the big boys.

So they can stop deluging Jspec.com and phase2 with insults: that this part X costs Y amount too much, and u should sell it to me for this low ball amount Z.

Realistically i'd put it into my retirement 401k 15000 is too much to be wasting on modfying my car. I'd use maybe 5000 of it at most to change my stock S14 turbo to a HKS GT-RS turbine kit, upgrade to 740cc injectors, get a HKS EVC 4 boost controller, Apex-i super suction kit for Z32 MAF and Z32 MAF, spend some time on XS's dyno, and get my harness to be more compatible with power fc like flash on knock sensor readings too high when im using ricky's power FC, take off my head and change valve spring and go for a set of mild cams from Tomei or HKS 256/256 or 256/264.

If i had to spend the rest of the 10k i'd get my self 4 sets of wheels/ tire.

splurging is for really rich people
i like to have a safe and secure future..investments..houses, savings etc..

because one day you'll wake up and maybe say "why the hell did i jsut blow 15K on my car?" because you know for a fact you will never make it back

but its much nicer being able to park in a house which is OWNED BY YOU and watch your big screen tv every night

i know how much fresno costs, i used to live there (for 4 years) get a house. prices are rising (housing costs) and land has good value, as you know its growing SO MUCH in the past 6 years. my parents just sold their house there. strangely enough they MADE a money on it!! and they only lived there for 3 years. it wasnt chump change money too, a big nice lump of money.

its an investment you certainly wont regret, unless you buy the house in the ghetto...d'oh!

Just remember nothing is ever secure when it comes to investment.

You can ALWAYS make it back, it's just the intense level you are willing to work. And whether or not you have the right vehicle to take you there.

I concour.

Real estate has always been what ppl believe to be one of the best investments. However, some research will reveal that may not be the case. Initial capital is high... Really high, even if one takes out a loan. Tax... nuff said. And other things that comes w/ owning a house. If one focus on the profit made and overlook all the other things that one dump into it already, then yes, the margin seems pretty good. Take a step back and think of all the money went into it before the result...

no way, look at any modified car, you lose A LOT of oney. example sam's cars...he'll never sell them or profit for all the money he put into it. very few cases are big money maker..example FnF supra..but that's because it landed the role of a lifetime..different story.

on average, you will lose money on a modified car trying to sell it. also im talkign about spending 15k on the car...not a few thousand.

true but i can only speak for my parents
their home near santa cruz has at least 5 times the amount the bought it for back in 78..5 times!! the house is extremely easy to sell as well

had house in visalia..lost money.but the market was very poor then
now in fresno made money to cover the fresno expenses AND the loss in visalia.

just depends on the TIMING of course

If you talking about $15k in that sense, then I agree. I probably misunderstood when you said you CAN'T make it back. I feel you CAN make the money back. One just can't keep the value of the car. However, if one can keep a car for long time and keep it in prestine condition. Even for mod'ed cars, I think one can make the money back. How long is a long time? That's the question... Do you wish to own a Mint condition T-model now?

Timing is the most important thing, but how does one know when is the RIGHT timing? But yea, definately one will gain on long term investments, that is a fact.

NO!!! Why 20mm? Go w/ 25mm! Anyways, I might've found another customer for you for fender rolling. Saw Richard's car last nite, it's coming along... The purple is not what I thought it'd be, but I think the finish product will look pretty good [crossing my finger].

Back to topic, $15k will not be enough for me to do the car anyways. I'd definately invest it(provided that I have no debt...). My goal for the car will be much more than just $15k. Invest it somewhere that'll give me a good return and then I can talk cars.

I would take the $15k, use $800 dollars of that money and buy a clunker S13 equipped with a KA24E AUTOMATIQUE! Then, I would call out that biaaatch Ricky Foo, and smoke his *** in the canyons.

All I would have to do to that car, is put some new brake pads and uhm.. MAYBE change the tires.

THEN, once thats all said and done.. I will wave a fat $14,200 dollar wad of money in front of his confused and shocked face.

By doing this, he will know:
a) That I beat his *** with an eight-hundred dollar POS 240SX
b) That he spent too much money on his fiberglas ashtray of a car
c) That no matter what..

I WILL SMOKE RICKY FOO....!!!
