s14 S14 SR Blitz Twin Plate Clutch issue

S14 Sr20det
Blitz active twin plate clutch (s13/14)

Just got my new cluch installed but have a serious issue,
it is extremely hard to put into first gear sometimes impossible, ill try like 5 times pump the clutch and try again pushing really hard till it actually slips into gear.
, 2nd,3rd and so on are a bit easier, basically once its moving it is possible to keep shifting gears the problem is when the car is stopping or still.
also very hard to pull out of gear when coming to a stop, sometimes it just wont come out of gear, and the motor is still pulling the car forward, till i am able to force it out of gear or turn the motor off to be able to get it out of gear..
I know this isn't normal.

we just re-routed the line from master cylinder to go straight to the slave cylinder, but it didnt help at all..
thinking of getting a new Z32 slave cylinder.
since my current one is still the stock one.
but i dont want to go around buying part after part if am not sure of what is causing this issue.

Has anyone else seen or had this kind of problem before?
tips? advice?
if I left any important info out just ask.
any help is appreciated!
Gabe

thx.
you know, my buddy said It might get smoother too, but it is soo rediculously hard to put in gear, probably takes like 40lbs of force to push in...lol
and thats when it does even go in gear.
and the people i know that have twin plates said their clutches were very stiff but never had the issue of not going into first gear..

That's seriously bad for your syncros. How's the pedal feel? What slave cylinder does blitz say to go with?

A few of the twin plate clutches need more "throw" from the slave cylinder - that definitely sounds like your problem. The slave is not pushing the fork far enough to disengage both plates.

Of course, engagement is the one thing that changes as the clutch breaks in, so if Blitz doesn't require a Z32 slave, maybe you just need to drive it a few hundred miles.

did you get the right tob?

you cant use a stock tob on multiplate clutch's.

it might not be disengaging the clutch all the way.

also you might have broken you pivot and the fork might be misaligned.

The throwout bearing comes in the kit, right Gabe?

It's also pretty difficult to misalign the fork and still have everything go in and "work", usually you notice when you bolt on the slave and the "nipple" doesn't go right into the fork's cup.

it seems like you need to put in a tech call to Blitz. I have blitz unit on my car and the TOB has given me problems and I think it is going to be on its way out again. I would call them and ask specific questions, and be careful about driving until its resolved...its better safe than having to source new drivetrain components.

same thing happened to me when i installed blitz active single plate clutch with stock SR TOB and sleeve. i ended up get a new TOB and sleeve from ORC thorugh RHDjapan.com and i relized after that that the TOB completly different also the sleeve can't rememeber if the stock sleeve is shorter or taller.

thanks for all the posts..
and tips..

The Clutch usually does come with a TOB and sleeve i think but mine didn't..
i bought a TOB made for twin plate clutches from local shop though.
Whats up with the sleeve?
there is a specific one for twin plates? if so it could be that since i did not know i needed a specific one.
would it affect the engagement?

I am thinking of getting a z32 slave cylinder mine seams a bit weak...
also am going to try to adjust the clutch pedal seams liek a smart thing to do!

If his Blitz twin plate required a shorter sleeve, he'd have the opposite problem - the clutch would always be disengaged, because the stock sleeve/TOB would be permanently pressed into the pressure plate, right?

I'd say give Blitz USA a call, they're in City of Industry/Walnut, and have normal biz hours - I've used them for some boost controller troubleshooting and they're pretty good once you actually talk to a "tech" guy.

you should stop driving it, the clutch is not fully engaging or disengaging.

Blitz told me they dont sell or fabricate the Release sleeve for this clutch anymore...

So I spoke to C-Unit and he said that OS Giken makes the clutches for Blitz so he is trying to contact them to find out the right sleeve size and place the order for me.. they should have an equivalent!
hope this does it..

No DD. my 240 is it.. i live close to work, like 5 min driving..but have to get 2 buses to get there or walk 25 minutes..lol
weird thing is that Nissan North america says the part is not available anywhere.. it is impossible that no one has this release sleeve being that it is used for many different clutches..even R34s use the same part.

So wtf do you need again? hahaha. My OEM SR throwout bearing had a trumpet style face to it.. It was longer than the OEM KA ones people use. Much different. Same for the sleeve. Clarify what you need. I have a sleeve that came out of an OE SR trans which was actually longer than the OEM KA one I bought.

I also finally found a place that sells the OS Giken one, in Australia..........lol but its $132.00 plus $40 for shipping

Haha, LuisGonz and I were just talkin about you today. Neither of us can believe you're still having this problem. Good luck man!!!

You know, until you roll out to the meets again, I think I have the fastest S-chassis there every time lol.

make sure when you install the new parts on your car that your clutch fork is properly installed. I had a problem with my fork coming off from one side and i couldnt get into gear, it ended up being the clip that holds the fork in place.

Gabe, All of blitz clutches are made by ORC (Ogura Clutch). The part you're looking for is pretty easy to order. Any ORC dealer can get it for you. You are looking for the sleeve and bearing assembly for the ORC 559D twin clutch for S13/S14 SR20DET. The blitz part number is in their 07 Power Book, but i'm not sure if they can still get it since they changed over to the carbon clutches. Either way, i'm sure you can get the part from any ORC dealer. You can try Nengun performance or Bulletproof automotive. They can probably get it for you. Hope this helps.
