A few questions about a complete rewire..

So, I've spent the last 5 hours researching complete rewires on the S-Chassis. I've gather and understood the fuse panel concept and relays concept.

I'm dilly-dallying with the idea of rewiring my car since the previous owner fubar'd most of the wiring on the car. I plan on keeping most almost all accessories except for A/C, Windshield washer, Side markers, and maybe my horn (aftermarket steering wheel doesn't co-operate). I'm still going through the circuits trying to fully understand how it will work.

The reason this post is the S.M.J. and the connectors. The s13 has the connectors for the chassis harness, which is where most of the wiring is going to be redone, to the Dash harness. I don't think this would be much of a problem if I weren't trying to keep the HVAC setup for defrost on the car and heat. How would I be able to incorporate the HVAC into the rest of this setup I'm planning to run, is there some way I can wire the connectors to my custom circuit? Is the S.M.J. going to be eliminated by doing this as well?

i'm doing a complete rewiring on my buddies car at the moment. we started a few weeks ago and we only manage to get work done on saturdays, so it's a slow process but i'd say we're about 60% done with it. it's also a street car and we're keeping most of the accessories.

all i can say at this point is, unless you're building a racecar where there's only minimal wiring required, go for it. but for a street car it's a lot of work, especially if you want to relocate your fuse/relay boxes, tuck the harness etc. this will probably be the first and the last time i did something like that to a streetable car.

if the previous owner of your car effed up the harness, just get a used one and call it a day.
