Good exhaust that won't drive me nuts?

I do alot of long distance driving with my 240sx, it's soon to get a fresh s14 sr20det. I'd like to upgrade the exhaust to something that's nice sounding but won't drive me up the wall on 400 mile drives where the engine pretty much hangs around 3000 - 3500rpm. I don't mind loud at WOT, but just not loud while i'm driving normally or leaving early in the morning.

Anyone have any ideas?

I was thinking of the Apexi Dual N1, or even single N1, someone also suggest HKS, but I forget which HKS model.

Any suggestions for what NOT to buy?

Well several things depend on how loud it really is, espically on turbo application.
I have a FULL turbo-back exhaust, and it loud...deeeeep loud, the sound caries.
I have HKS O2 extension to BLiTz Downpipe to Testpipe, to GP Sports Type-R catback...
So you can see why its loud, haha.
Hope this helps

Generally, once you go turbo, the exhaust will not be as obnoxiously loud as if you had an NA. The turbine quiets things down to a nice deep sound, like BLiTz said. Me personally, since I don't like big mufflers, I would get an ES Tuning or Thermal can and have custom 3" piping done. Just my 2psi...
