going e85 need help
Ok im switching over to e85 and im trying to find someone that has been running e85 for a few years now that can give me some info to finish off my set up. Searched around and haven’t really found anything solid just a lot of people arguing over set ups that none of them are even using

Im trying to see what all needs to be swapped out my set up now is 740cc injectors, walbor 255, and nismo fpr. Also has any one had problems e85 eating lines? Ive seen people that actually run e85 say yes and no. so how long have u been running e85 and whats your set up? Is it a dd or just a weekend car. My 240 is a weekend car and sits for long periods of time.

If you had more specific questions I could be more help..... but
The only line I ever had trouble with was the fuel line that came with the walbro 255 in tank pump basicially melted away as it became a soggy mess when I went to e85. I like a 4 bar setup for many reasons with e85 and one perk is your fueling wont need adjusted in order for your car to run good compared to your current tune if it is on a 3 bar setup currently. It still should be adjusted though to make it ideal but what im saying is your car will safely run. Your timing will need a big bump in many places too. Something really neat. I ran e85 for 3.5-4 years and when I switched over I had recently built an engine and just got done breaking it in on gas so it had maybe 300 miles on it of gas and then the rest was e-85. I just pulled that engine apart and the pistons wiped clean with a shop rag. ![]() ![]() ![]() I literally WIPED them clean! And they look perfect besides the skirts show that they were in an engine. Something major to remember is to always keep a closed pcv system. Always route it back to your turbo inlet, DO NOT VENT IT TO ATMOSPHERE as the vapor is flammable. Also if you do the recommended 4bar fuel pressure your going to need more than the 255 in tank pump and a 255 inline helper will do wonders for you. I did a writeup on another forum on how to set one up. |

Nothing other than what is listed in my post really. Make sure your crank case vent is routed back to the turbo. Turn fpr up to 4 bar. After your sure all of the gas has ran out of the tank and your on 100% e85 take it to someone that knows how to tune and isnt going to be scared to throw the timing at it.
