![]() I was driving my car the other day and I started to notice my Turbo was spooling fairly loud while normal throttle use Turbo pulls fine still spools fast and I haven't noticed any leaks. Any suggestions.

Not much info to go off of.
Double check the piping. If nothing is off, waste gate is functioning normally, etc. I would start looking at bearing problems or oil delivery/return problems. Is it possible you are hearing more of a squealing bearing then just a boost build up? It has to be compressor side, exhaust side, or bearings. If the exhaust is tight, and boost is building like it should.... Well then, it might be bad news. I'm hoping you just missed something coming loose on the compressor side. With that in mind, are you watching a boost gauge, or just saying it's working because you hear it, and feel it? |

I was wondering the same thing.. When I wrapped my down pipe on my SR a year ago I notice the spool was louder and I knew it right away as soon as I took it for a drive. I'm not crazy or anything but thought I share lol.

I hope your'e not mistaking a spooling sound with your compressor wheel hitting the compressor housing. I'd check the turbo for excessive shaft play and see it the wheel are starting to make contact with the cover. Best to check now than to damage the wheel later.

sounds like an exhaust leak. with the car running put your hand down around the turbo area and see if you feel exhaust. that happened to me, and ended up being the gasket in between the turbo and manifold.
