Exclamation s14 Bushing Gap, Causing knocking?

Hi, I have solid subframe bushings installed on my s14. I still have a knocking sound somewhere in the drivetrain, and I'm thinking it's either the driveshaft, tranny mount, or diff bushings. I looked at my diff bushings yesterday and noticed a gap:

Does this look normal? I'm going to try to wrap the top of the gap with aluminum wire to make a make-shift bushing collar to see if the knocking goes away. If that solves the problem I'll get solid mounts, just wanted to see if you guys have this gap also in your bushings.

I'm not seeing any gap in the pic, there is a bushing. Use a pry bar and see if you can move the diff or the subframe. Grab the drive shaft and axles and see if you can move them up or down by hand.

There is a gap there, it's just hard to see. The white lines on the photo are accurate.
