You can switch between e5 ecu's and 62 ecu's AFAIK.
Earlier blacktops weren't much different than redtops. It's the kouki/type x blacktops you can't just switch.
I was running a ROM tuned/e5 ecu in my car, then I got map-ecu and switched to a stock reman/62 ecu with no problems.
I have my fuel pump hardwired through a switch/relay though, if that helps.
