![]() Hi, I've been pulling my hair for the past 2 weeks studying this forum and trying to figure out what is wrong with my car. Tried everything I could think of and can not figure it out. I bought the car like this and am new to 240's so sorry If I'm sounding like a noob.
My car is a 98 nissan 240sx SE model KA24de with auto to manual conversion. The ecu and engine harness is still from the automatic KA24de. It seems to be stuck in limp mode and wont rev over 2500 rpms. I've checked over the harness connections, replaced the MAF with a good one. Changed plugs, wires, cap and rotor. The check engine light is on and the codes are 34, 84 and 92. I know 34 is the knock sensor, 84 is for the transmission ecu communication, and 92 I have no idea. Would a bad knock sensor cause it to go into limp mode. I reset the ecu and code 92 always comes back on. It wont rev over 2500 rpms no matter what I change/do. Do I need a manual OBD2 ecu? I know that guys that do the swap use their auto ecu's without any problems but I don't know why mine is like this. Any Info or input would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks. |

try the 1mega ohm resistor trick.
Insert the resistor in the knock sensor plug check for codes again and it should clear code 34. your car went on safe mode cuz it detects knock or your sensor is out. try that could fix your problem. btw the resistors are like a dollar at radio shack

You need a manual ecu if you want to clear the check engine light
knock sensor won't make the car go into limp mode check the connectors to the MAF and TPS if you messed with the distributors, there's a chance your timing is 180 degrees off |
