Angry Had my engine scanned

My car's stutter has gotten much worse. So, I took my car to a local shop yesterday and had my car scanned (cost me $56). It came back and said I had a clogged injector and my ignition system was bad. So, I had them do this "fuel system flush" (another $45) and that helped a little. Then I went and bought new spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributer cap, and rotor (all together: $74). Installed it all and my car still has that same damn stutter it has always had. This is really pissing me off cause I have spent SOO much money on this problem, and I am still at the same point as where I started. The only thing I haven't changed is my O2 sensor. I took it out and looked at it, and it didn't look bad (i guess, it wasn't all brown and worn). Only thing I can think of is either my MAFS is shot or something mechanically is really messed up. Anybody?

ok, so did you buy new injectors for it yet? sometimes a fuel system flush wont do it...what about your fuel filter? see if you can borrow someones good working injectors and see if that is the problem...injector problems suck so much, really dam hard to figure out

It is probably your MAFS. I had the same problem, but mine car would run a little then die out.

Isn't the distibutor internally coiled? As far as I know there's no external coil to mess with, so if your coil was bad then you would have to replace the entire distributor. I needs be take it out and to your local Autozone and they should be able to test it to see if it's bad.

It should be fine though. Those things run forever.

Changed my fuel filter to a Z32 one. I'm thinking about taking my injectors out and letting them soak in simple green or something for a while and then put them back in. Power Transistor? Where is that at?

Maybe Temperature Sensor? Cause it does improve as the car warms up. When I first crank it, it is horrible. What is the exhaust gas sensor? EGR or the O2 sensor?

its the o2 sensor ..

the EGR is the Exhaust Gaz Recirculation

the E.G.R control valve controls the quantity of exchaust gas to be led to the intake manifold trought vertical movement of the tapper valve connected to the diaphram, to wich vacuum is applied in response to the opening of the throttle valve.

the Temp sensor

The engine temperature sensor detects the engine temperature wich is dependent on engine collant temperature and transmit the signal to the ECU.

if the scan said clogged injector then just replace all ur injectors. its regular maintenance that you should probably do anyway. what kind of gas are you using? my coworker says his old car would stutter if he used cheap low octane gas.

i don't think u spent that much money considering the things you replaced is good maintenance for your car anyway. consider it a good investment instead.

I've ran ever octane from 87-93 and its all the same. Right now I am soaking my fuel rail and ingectors in some Simple Green. Damn those injectors are hard to get out. I still can't get them off the fuel rail. Whats the best way to get them off?

Ok, I let the injectors soak for 3 hours and then put them back in. Didn't change a thing. I think I am going to do like Crioten said and just buy some new ones. How much do they cost from the dealership, or should I find a good used set?

Yeah you just gotta pull them out. You could've actually removed them while the fuel rail was attached to the engine. They will pop out with a little elbow grease. Also when you put them back in make sure you push them all they way in so that the rubber seal at the base is completely in the hole on the fuel rail.

A new injector runs about 100 bucks from nissan. Here's what you could do, buy 1 injector, then swap it into each spot testing the car as you go. If the engine runs fine after one of the tests then you know it was just one injector, if not, then buy another and test again and so on.....

This is just an idea to save you some money. Rarely do all 4 of the injectors go out at the same time.

Good Luck!

Just called Nissan, 145.90 for a new injector. A little steep. I am about to turbo my KA soon, and I might just wait until then, cause I will need to do some injector upgrades anyway.

yeah, you will be able to find better deals on injectors on the internet and such, 145 from the dealer isnt that bad of a price...

but if you are gonna turbo your ka, then just get some larger ones, they wont cost that much more, and plus you will have 4 brand new perfect injectors

BTW, since we are on injectors, will 370cc injectors run stoich on 6 or 7 psi of boost? Without S-AFC.

Also, I was thinking, what if part of my problem could be my throw out bearing. Cause I changed my clutch about 3 months ago, and I couldn't get my old one out, so I just left it in. Cause the stuttter is the worse when I change gears. Its like the clutch engages, and starts to go up the rpms, then we it goes about 500 rpms higher, it acts like it really engages and it starts to rew smoother. But I guess this could also be the injectors being all clogged, they make it feel like the clutch.
