Brake Upgrade Question

I am a former 240 owner now. My 240 went to that big garage in the sky. Some Dumb^$$ set it on fire. Anyway, I had to buy a car really quick, adn since I was working at a Ford dealership at the time, it ended up being an Escort ZX2. The question that I have is this: Does anyone know how the original 300zx brake upgrade possibility was discovered. I like the idea behind it and would like to do something similar on the ZX2. No one in the Escort community seems to have ever heard of this type of upgrade. I am willing to do the leg work, but was hoping that one of you could point me in the right direction so I can develop this upgrade myself. Thanks guys. I really miss this forum.

Don @ www.pdm-racing.com is said to be the one who
discovered this upgrade. Reason why is works, Nissan shares a lot of parts between vehicles and lots are interchangeable.

I am more then sure ford is the same way, you just have to mix and match something..

Weren't people in Japan doing this long before Don figured it out? The S14 K's comes with brakes that are pretty much the exact same as Z32 brakes.

You're right, this has been going on in Japan for years. Of course, the Silvia came with larger brakes than the american counterpart. We pretty much got screwed, like usual...

In the japanese mags we have at the shop, the most common upgrade for the Silvia's are the Skyline Brake upgrade. I wish it was easier to find here or I'd have done it to my car.

cmathews- you just have to go out and find which cars have similar brake systems in the Ford lineup. Same lug pattern is a good place to start looking. All auto companies try to minimize costs, so they often use parts which are very similar to one another. I'm sure Ford has done this in many cases.
