you can make a flywheel 5lbs but what's the recommended weight? and why?

i've heard it's 12lbs. but not sure?

It all depends on what you want to do.

Stock ITR's are supposedly like 8lbs. The lighter it is, the easier the engine revs up and down but the rougher it idles. There is no set number you shouldn't go below in terms of weight that i know of. however 12lbs for a KA or SR is light enough imo. The lighter the flywheel, the less driveline inertia which equates to a worse ability to launch. So if you are building a drag car or something like that you don't want your flywheel to be that light but otherwise go for it!
