Man.. I've been drooling..  The new Z is my new love...  The price is so nice too..  Things are finally starting to look up for sports cars again..  WRX (maybe STi soon), new Z car, the SE-R Spec V, and maybe a GT-R in a few years...

whee!

i like it alot the price more than justifies the lack of turbo and it makes similar power even with out them.  i heard it handles nice but havent heard anything bout the shifter and its fast too

I think it's a six speed manual
and as for the "lack of turbo", this car makes more hp than an rb...it's just a lot heavier than a skyline i guess
260 hp n/a *drool*
I'm thinking it will be in the low to mid 5's for 0-60

I like its styling but I think that style is gonna get plaid out. I have seen a lot of manufactures prototypes that look very much similar. I do on the otherhad like the bargain of HP per Dollar with this car tho. but still one question. WHERES THE TURBO?<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>???

cougar in case you didn't know, our 240's are NA

what's the 350 supposed to weigh? i hadn't heard anything about it being heavy, actually thought it was about 100lbs lighter than the Z32, if it's under 3250 i'll be pretty impressed

he knows the 240's are NA. But when you hear 300zx you think &quot;turbo&quot; ::drool:: but the 350z seems to be breaking the mold, or something like that...

im gonna buy one, a long time from now when i add it to my collection...

i thinks shes a good little piece of ass, the turbo will come 2 years later i think i read somewhere

whatever she weighs, whatever teh gearbox, n/a or not it's a good sign or nissan to get back in the mix...

and personally i think the WRX, and all these new 180+hp &nbsp;cars (matrix, protege5 etc.) with their plastic 6 speeds, cheap awd's and 5 doors, aimed at 20-30 something's making a few bucks are gay as ####...

yes even the WRX, because everyone wants them, everyone... and everyone will have them in due time and then they are the new honda civic...

i want a real 2 door sports car, i want it to look mean and be fast, fuck the weight. &nbsp; If i wanted 4 doors and awd id get an audi S4, or i'd get a sweet bmw...

350z looks good though.....

I think the new Z is awesome! I was surprised how small it was compared to the Z32. I think it will weigh in under 3000 cuz its similar size to the 240's.

I wonder why you guys are knocking it 'cause it doesn't have a turbo. I'd rather have 280 NA hp than 300 turbo HP. NA is a smoother power output than turbo by nature. I s'pose it's personal preference.

For the record, I like the new Z :-)

Honestly, I don't care for it all that much. &nbsp; The interior, actually though, is quite beautiful. &nbsp; But I hate those headlights that sweep up like that. &nbsp;Whatever happened to long, thin, horizontal ones like on the mid-90's Preludes and Silvias? &nbsp;Sigh. &nbsp;I miss them.

Specs though .. yeah, definately looks like it'd be a blast to drive. &nbsp;I still think the 300 is more attractive though. &nbsp;Looks matter.

It looks sweet. &nbsp;I even liked the one at the car show last year and the final product has been revised from that even. &nbsp;Anyway, Plenty of HP and not too$$$$. &nbsp;Makes for a great car w or w/o a turbo. !!! &nbsp;

</td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'>

actually dave, it's ~3100lbs according to Nissan. and I want FIVE!!!

as for turbo... who cares??? why is a car more &quot;fun&quot; with a turbo. so you could play with the boost knob? hear it go ppsshh? for the same power, I'll alway take N/A. there's no turbo lag to deal with, less fears of engine wear, a lot linear torque curve, etc etc. oh yea, insurance premium lower <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

someone said 260hp? the prototype has been rated at 280hp, but that's not final figures. Hopefully it'll be even higher. and that's not more than the R34 GTR, it's the &quot;same&quot;. however, Nissan underrated that 280hp figure to comply with the &quot;agreement&quot; Japanese manufacturers have with one another and the gov to keep power figures to 280. that's why the Supra, Fairlady Z, 3000gt, RX-7 fd, NSX type R all are rated at 280hp as well.

oh yea, I love the 350z. as soon as I get out of school and start working... that'll be my daily driver.
I hope someone makes a turbo kit for it though. despite what I said before... the best of both worlds is to have a strong N/A car... then blowing it <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> Hope they find room in the engine bay though... that VQ's a huge engine and the 350z didn't leave too much room for a twin turbo setup.

i read that it was gonna be atleast 280 but that 280hp limit that they have in japan is total bull. &nbsp;they all lie because the supra had 320hp and so did the 3000gt and the z32 had 300hp. &nbsp;and i dont think they ristricted them in japan to make 280hp. &nbsp;they did it for a stupid reason too...so that they wont be um...flashy for lack of a better word. &nbsp;its cause of an old japansese proberb. &nbsp;well maybe not stupid. &nbsp;anyway everyone knows they dont follow it.

hrmmm
i just read an article in the houston chronicle of all places
apparently it will start at 26,800 ish and work its way up with the &quot;enthusiast model&quot; at 28,249, the performance model at 30,429, the touring model at 31,589 and the track model at 34,079. &nbsp; They all have the vq but the performance touring and track have 18 inch rims rather than 17s, the track model having lightweight ones. &nbsp;they als have front and rear spoilers traction control and lsd with brembo brakes. &nbsp;makes me mad that they say the z32 was the last z car tho...i think s13 hatchback looks more like the old 240z and 280z any day.
