external WG on tubular manifold....why not?
Why don't people like to run external WGs on a QUALITY tubular manifold? Is it even ok to do? I'm aware that tubular manifolds are more prone to crack, but I have a quality one that I want to throw and external WG on.
Besides, if it cracks, I'll just pull out my welder and fix it in a few minutes. What am I missing here? Why are many people (esp. in the 2871r thread) tossing the tubular manifolds and going back to stock to run an external wg? Last edited by gotta240; 02-29-2012 at 06:17 PM.. |

Fuck are you talking about? Tons of people run EWGs on tubular/ramhorn manifolds. Yes cheaper ones are prone to cracking. I've had a cxr one for a while now with a 38mm gate, no cracking so far.

yeah, not sure why, but seems like most people (who seem to know their shit) in the 2871r thread swear against going external WG on a tubular manifold.....not sure why.
