Reputable brands that make s chassis hoods?

I'm in the market for a new hood for my Silvia. I'm debating on what brand to choose since I read their are plenty of issues with fitment and durability. I don't mind rather it's carbon fiber or fiberglass. Which ever works best. I'm on a budget though so 500 is my limit atm. So what brands are trustworthy? Vendors? And I would wish to keep my stock latch, and none of that hood pin nonsense. All I have is bad luck with hood pins.

Thanks in advance lads!

if you go frp or carbon style hood you need hoodpins or the aerocatch style ones. ive had and also have seen many hood latchs crack off and hit the windshield while driving.

like towlie said keep stock and install vent(s)

Hey I started a thread about this same thing and I still haven't gotten a hood. I'm leaning mor towards VIS because they do utilize the factory hood latch. However hood pins are a good idea. I'm at a 500 limit as well cuz the wife is buying it for me. I wouldn't recommend cutting into your oem hood because it's not practical. You will probably spend 500 just doing it and re-painting it. Unless you just want to rig it up like a lot of kids try to do and fill it with fiberglass and use a can of black rattle can paint to paint it with. But to each his own. Keep me posted of you decide and buy a hood and I'll do the same.

Thanks for the info lads, but I can't seem to find a oem hood locally. Guess I'm going aftermarket!

DO NOT GO WITH VIS. Unless you dont mind horrible fitment and crappy carbon fiber and fiberglass. I know from multiple incidents(10+). I have yet to see one that fits correctly. However I have no experience with their 240sx hoods. Just WRX's, s2000, evo's, and even my cousins ford zx2. All were horrible.

Seibon on the other hand seems to be spot on with the applications I've seen.
