Time capsule S14 KA24DET "original owner" car

a bit of backstory about this car... I saw it posted on a group on Facebook, and thought "oh that's a nice car". Didn't really consider buying it...

then a couple months later, saw that it got a small price reduction. Went to look at it, and committed to buying it without hesitation.

Some specs as a placeholder example for now:

• 1996 240SX SE 5 Speed manual, no sunroof
• One family car; original owner sold the car to his brother ~15 years ago or something like that
• KA24DE w/ modified Greddy Turbo Kit. Engine built/tuned by Technosquare using Techtom ECU
• AST coilovers corner balanced
• Advan TCII 18x8.5/18x9.5 with build date of 2003
• Nismo 2-way LSD
• Stoptech big brake kit
• Navan front bumper; painted E39 Silverstone Metallic (BMW M5 color)
• Clean inside/out

No real plans. Kind of waiting to see which car I will keep, either the S13 I'm "restoring" or this car. If I keep the S14 there will be a proper cage put in and it will be a weekend/track car, otherwise I will keep it as-is and find a better home for it.

If I keep it. But if I keep it I'm also putting the AC back in... the original owner had the KA turbo put in close to 15 years ago and kept all the AC parts.

Wiring just needs to be cleaned up, but engine really just looks this way because it's been garaged for its entire life but it's never been cleaned properly.

I like this because it looks like it was built by a shop in 2004 and then just left to sit. I hope something cool happens with it.

Technically a modified Greddy kit. everything from the kit except it has a ETD exhaust manifold.

Only other car w/ S14 KA turbo that I knew of personally was CleanS14's black kouki. At a SoCal event blew his engine back in 06/07 timeframe and I had to arrange a motor from Marco at SR20Store for a quick swap/fix

Pretty much in his garage.

Engine was built/turbo kit installed 1/6/2006 at 108769 miles. The car currently has ~140300 miles, so it's been driven a bit over 3000 miles in the last 15 years.

The last documented work on the car from August 2020 was at 139945 miles, I bought it with about 140050 miles, this is one of those cars that just sit there because other things in life are more important.
