Please Help S13 sr blacktop problems

ok im new to the forum so please forgive me if i post this in the wrong section also i dont know what the problem is so i didnt really know what to search which is why i am posting this.

so i have a 1991 s13 with a sr20 type x black top motor recently i was driving the car was having no issues when out of nowhere the car just started farting and sputtering i got a little bit of black smoke but nothing crazy now when i try starting it it comes on for about a sec then dies will not idle and wont move pretty much what could be causing this it feels like its not getting fuel but ive never had this sort of issue before and wouldnt know where to begin please help

Check for leaks in your intercooler piping.. Sounds like you could've popped a coupler loose.

^ exactly that has happened to me a couple times... SO check your piping as well as your hot pipe.

That is exactly what happened clamp broke on the bottom of the pipe running into the front mount glad thats all it was it was freaking me out haha never had that happen before thank you both for the speedy response

You can check this, usually when this happens it smells like fart or rotten eggs. Idk why, but it just does lol.

Also, have you checked your spark plugs lately? Check to make sure that there is no oil/gasoline flooding those babies. Are they at the correct gap?

When you turn the key to the ON position, can you hear the fuel pump relay kick on and a buzzin sound from the fuel pump itself? Check to make sure your fuel pump is working. Also, check the fuse to make sure it has not blown out.

Check your MAF wiring and make sure that has not been unplugged.

when it first happened i checked maf the fuses by habit then sparks which i do monthly just to make sure there is no leaks of oil they are gapped correctly and it was the piping which i didnt even think to check but thanks for the help and reply idk why but i cant find the thanks button on this forum is there one ?

lol had that happen to me as i hopped on the freeway! couldnt get off for 10 miles an was really scared blew my motor rofl
