I dont have the energy right now to find a clever way to call you a dumbass and tell you to search

so that is it...

Simply google KA vs SR, its a topic that has been covered and debated far too many times

Oh my God dude...come on now. This is one of the most HIGHLY debated topic on every nissan board.

They're two different animals. You know what? I'll spoon-feed you some info while we have your attention - it's about to rain cold, hard facts up in here.

SR20:
JDM-Tyte Factor
Plug and play (in a sense, drop the engine in, wire it up)
Higher-revving
SLIGHTLY lighter-weight (aluminum block AND head)
Perhaps a slightly larger aftermarket availability (ebay/etc parts)

KA24(D)ET
Larger OEM part availability (autozone, etc)
Awesome torque
Engine is already in the car
A lot of potential (350hp+) for $2-3k

Just the basics. Most of the other stuff is honestly just the same. Engine components (cams rods pistons hardware etc) availability is the same. Costs are about the same, too.

The decision is up to you. Both are good choices. Both have their headaches. I like my KA because I like torque and have a fully built KA for the same price as stock SR.

dude you have to be shitting me... there is no need to ask this in 2011... most people will say SR, some will say KAT... They say KAT has more torque, but not enough to justify... still laggy as hell compared to 6 or 8 cyl... SR feels better in high revs, more support, lighter, and is just overall better haha

If your car already has a ka-t setup, why change it?

Just rock it till it explodes.

just re ring it and hone the cylinders. do a valve job and replace timing parts and engine bearings. if the crank is not damaged, just have it polished. with all that and new seals and gaskets and water pump, you got another 40-60 thousand miles of reliable boost. don`t have to worry about re plumbing the intercooler, new exhaust down pipe, and new wiring.

The truth. If you already have all of the provisions inside of the car setup for a turbo KA, might as well keep it that way. Perhaps instead of spending $2k on an SR swap, use that money to build the KA with forged components and get Nistune/Megasquirt.
