im getting sick of unpluggin my battery. I bought my 240 about 3 years ago ( rb20) and i have had a problem with it dying over night since I first got it. It Hasnt been really buggin me til now. I bought a new battery 4 months ago cuz the old one is bad and had my alternator tested to and it was good. i did a multi meter test and i was getting a reading of .40 amps with the car off. so i took my test light and hooked it up to the neg. post and neg wire and the light turned on. its dim i cant get the light to go off no matter what i do. i have unplugged my ecu, pulled every fuse under the dash and in the engine bay. i also unplugged the alternator, starter, ignition switch, fuel pump, injector harness and coil pack harness. even with al this stuff unplugged the light is still on but my multi meter only reading .25 amps...

what am i missing cuz this is starting to give me a head ache?

also i touched my injector wires where they connect to the ecu with my test light and all of them are getting power with the car off andd the key out. are they supposed to get constant power?

What else is connected to the battery? And have u done any modifications to the haness? I would disconnect the plugs going into the ecu and cabin harness ( white clip) and check if u got power? If u do then something is getting constant power from the engine harness.. Maybe your lower harness? Check if u have any non oem wiring. Pm Jeff Jordan he probably has a better solution for pin pointing the problem

I had the same problem. Ma Motorsports fixed it a month ago. Make sure that you check the fuse panel under the dash. They said that they had to redue some of the wires. Good Luck!

ok so found the issue area... its the 2 green relays near the ecu. i got 2 new ones to see if it fixes the problem but it doesnt. if i unplug one or both then the light goes off but once i put both back in the light cuts on. what do these 2 relays go to??? heres a pic of them.

Have you checked out all your grounds?

if the grounds are inadequate, then the electrical system won't work as intended...

something to check out, anyway

Going through the same problem my fuses under the dash and alternator and starter all pull batt. Even when i disconect he ground

you obviously have a current draw somewhere, start pulling fuses and see what circuit is draining your battery

I had this exact same problem. I had bought the cheapest battery (new) because my old one gave out. Well, this new cheap battery worked awesome till I left it over night and my car wouldn't start in the morning. Thought is was something staying on but it turned out this cheapo battery didn't even have enough cranking power so it would get drained easily just from starting. So i returned it, got a yellow top optima, and now I can leave my lights on all night and no issues.
