running poorly, any advice?

I have recently completed a sr20det into s14 chassie swap. I used the ka harness, sr distributer, JWT tuned ka ecu; stock redtop turbo, injectors, MAF; FMIC, apexi piston type BOV, 3" turbo back exhaust (no cat). I fired the car up a few days ago and she runs good in the driveway (revs freely), but when I drive down the street I notice a lot of hesitation in low to mid RPM range. I also have excessive smoking off throttle and between shifts. The car jerks so badly when trying to accelerate I am worried I am doing damage by running it. Is their a common problem I should be aware of before I start checking the basics (plugs, wires, distributer, TPS, vacuume leaks, intercooler or plumbing leaks, ect...) Any help would be greatly appreciated.
