does the buddy club spec II have to be welded?

Buddy Club BC03-SP2EXS14 Spec II Catback Exhaust System S14

so im thinking about upgraded to a buddy club spec II. but looking at the pics it seems like the two pipes have to be welded together or use a clamp. can any one confirm this? thats a pretty shitty design if so. they do sound nice though.

edit: on enjuku it looks as though its a single piece.

it uses spring clamps/hooks system. no welding required

I have this exhaust on my S14. The two pipes slide together and it comes with springs that you attach to the tabs to keep it together. They're pretty stiff springs too.
Oh and it sounds absolutely awesome, and if you need to quiet it down it comes with a bolt in silencer.

thank you
right now i have a tanabe exhaust an the muffler is way too large. it scrapes constantly an i want to go lower. so a straight pipe seems ideal. an the youtube clips of the buddy club sound sweet.

Oh it sounds so much better in person, the only problem I've had with mine is that it hits my subframe. But it pretty much sits above the frame rails so you won't have to worry about it scraping.

mine also hits the frame rail, not sure if it was because of the exhaust or down pipe...glad to see im not the only one....it sounds great on a turbo car.....but dont use the silencer as is, its way to constrictive...even with 6 holes front and back it still needs more flow

LOL wishful thinking. The Spec II is an awesome exhaust. Quit though? Hell no! Its fucking loud as hell. LOL When I ran it on my RB car it was evil sounding. You could also hear me over 20 blocks away. LOL

Great exhaust, loud as fuck. Don't get it if you think you will get noise tickets because you will. LOL

Otherwise right up there with the Dart Izumi in one of the greatest exhausts made for our cars.

oh im not saying its not loud. im just saying my current exhaust is really loud. you can here me coming a mile away lol. on my last 240 i had a apex'i exhaust which was also pretty loud. cops in my area dont seem to care too much about giving tickets for loud exhaust. towns outside mine is a different story though.

get the exhaust, I've gone through a bunch on my S13 and it's by far the best system I've ever seen. The design is very form follows function. Even without the silencer, the car is considerably quiet until you get to higher RPMs and the straight-through resonator begins to be bypassed. IMO the slip fit connection is the best design for a low car, because there isn't that larger diameter connector to bolt together which always scrapes.

I sold mine cuz it fucking drove me crazy cuz of the noise. I like my Apexi GT-Spec better...yah, I'm too old for loud ass exhaust. The pipes basically slip on to each other. The springs keeps the pipes from seperating from each other.
