quarter panel repair cost?

relatively new here... I just been cruisin the board for info bout my rps13 240... well, I just got hit the other day~not too bad~but it dented the driver door and the rear quarter panel. Im gonna replace the door with one from the junk yard but I would just like to know the average cost to repair or cut/weld part of the quarter panel from another panel. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Welding = Bad idea

All the welding will warp the shit out of the metal. Too much work

Best option is to have the panel re-finished by a GOOD shop.

Cost? Depends on dent. Could be up to $500 w/ paint for a GOOD repair job (read: little or no bondo)

Other option is new Rear Quarter, but thats like $1800... not including labor for install/prep/paint

Good luck

unless you buy a Fiberglass Rear Quarter Panel that is wider like 50mm and have it molded on

I also an wondering how much it would cost. I had a little arguement with a curb that threw me into a pole.

Lets just say they won the arguement. But it was all thanks to drifting......

the quarter panel is part of the unibody. it has to be cut out and welded in. It is very expensive. It is very difficult to do properly.

A better alternative is to fix the one you got. a GOOD body shop can do it... I'd say try and get metal or fiberglass filler, because bondo shizzle will crack.

I am going through this same dilemna with my car. The driver's side rear quarter panel of my car really messed up because of a hit and run. I did an estimate of the damage at a really good body shop in college station and it came out to 1600 bucks in damages. Waiting what the insurance company says, but hopes that helps.
