Question about coil over adjustment knob
Why don't companies making coil overs these days, put the rear dampening adjustment on the side, toward the bottom of the shock like how Tanabe used to do it? It's so much easier to get to, then having to adjust from in the car. Unless of course, your interior is stripped, then it wouldn't matter. I'm thinking they put it on top, because it will last longer, since it won't be exposed to the elements. What do you guys think?

How about you run an extension so you have it over the cover. Just think outside the box. You can always make any kind of extension for anything to run it remotely.
I mean, you could go to a bike shop and buy yourself a bicycle cable, wrap it around the knob and run it to the front of the cabinet of car and as you pull it rotates it, as you push the other way, it rotates the other way. You could attach a motor and wire it to a cell phone and turn the knob from your home. Put a parakeet on the knob and train it to turn the knob to different types of tones of whistles. My point it, I'll take the inside knob any day and make it work. |

With my Tanabes, all you had to do was stick your hand behind the wheels to adjust dampening. |

Not coil overs, but for what its worth Kyb Agx shocks have the knobs for the rear shocks outside/under the car like you are talking about.

Because the shocks are independently height adjustable and they can rotate in the mount, so the knob would rotate too.
Folding the seat and popping off the rear cover isnt that hard anyway.

Nothing happens when you turn the knob, only the occasional rainbow and flying unicorn popping out of your upper mount, lol jp.
