Ecu ??

After my sr20det #62 ecu had a fight with some rain water and Lost I got a replacement. Was bsn around with the bad ecu looking for what popped or burnt up and popped open the good one Ive been running and heres what I found.



Theres that extra pcb board on top or bottom in the picture. Chipped or What??

some updates , guess I got some research to do , dont no shi@t about tuning / chips ect. Any thoughts?

Yes it chipped. The extra board is the daugtherboard. You probably dont know what is it tuned for so I wouldn't recommend running your car with that as is. You best way to put that ecu back to stock program is moving the jumper switch back to CJ1 jumper.

Below is the pic showing to run it the jumper to CJ2 for external map or daugtherboard.

Yeah thats what I was fearing , Ive been running it and seems to run fine , no codes ect. Took the daughtboard off and the two chips have stickers labeled: 180sxMT(some jap 3 symbols) A2III and the other B2III?

about to grab my old ecu and look at the jumper your talking about , like a cmos or something?

It may work but that could be tuned for something aggressive than stock. Keep in mind Japan has higher octane than in the US so while it may run you could be detonating and not know it.

If you take off the daugtherboard with out moving the jumpers back to CJ1 position it will not work.

yeah looked at both ecus , so I need to move that inductor or whatever back to cj1 which looks kinda bad , and leave db off. Thanks for all the help. Guess Ill wait for tomorrow to do this small. Budlight and pcb board not so good.



Any tips or things to watch out for , Ive work with solder alot and pcb boards but dont want to throw another ecu away?
