After a 5 speed swap my check engine light has come on with the automatic ecu, so I figured I slap in a WM manual ecu. Once the manual ecu is in it throws a code for inhibitor switch. problem is inhibitor switch is only on automatic cars, so my question is: how to fix that problem for good.

I've searched around on google and found similar problems but no solutions yet.

Any help would be appreciated

Vehicle is a '97 kouki

P.s. is the inhibitor switch the same as neutral saftey switch?
