How long do oxygen sensors last?
I just noticed that PDM says you should change your oxygen sensor about once a year, since they are prone to random failure.
Is this true? I haven't heard about this for the KA, or any other car for that matter.

ive been told you should change them "every so often" even if the engine light doesnt come on....My mechanic says that on the KA engines the O2 sensors can be f**ked up and the light wont come on and it kills your mileage. Im planning to put a new one into the header im getting. That as well as a wheel alignment and some new plugs / wires should make the mileage way better

Man, I never knew about this. I guess that is why I am running rich with shittiy mileage, black smoke (barely any) and a bit lower performance.
I never replace the o2 sensor because the check engine light never came on. D'oh. Thanks ![]()
