bent frame?

I went to fix my back bumper today cuz it was a little crooked.. looks like one side of the bumper support is pushed in more than the other. Is the frame bent? I cant see anywhere that the bumper support comes off.. thanks.

Bumper support has 2 big-ass bolts in it holding to the radiator support core. Only way to check a bent frame is on a machine.

HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats a hell of a miss......if you cant find bolts on the bumper reinforcement your never gonna figure out if the frame is bent....take it to a shop and have it checked if your that worried about it.......

No offense I just think that its funny the irony of you not seeing bolts but thinking your frame is bent......

No, I skipped a word. Rear. The rear bumper support is not bolted to the radiator support, and having never removed my rear bumper, I withdraw my previous statement.

OK lemme get serious here instead of joking.......

In all honesty your only gonna tell your frame is bent if you have it checked by a profesional or if your ride is funny.....IE. crabbing, stepping out, a slight side wobble etc.......

but the way your explaining it seems as though your car has been in a minor fender bender type accident that may have pushed your bumper in.....the story will tell underneath other parts of your car.....IE. if you smashed the front end in and bought all new parts such as your bumper cover hood and fenders, you would see the frame damage in the lines of the car.....(The fenders gaps bettween the hood and the hood gaps in the headlights....if its an S14) The car will tell you what wrong with it you just have to look a little deeper into it and possibly under its skin.....

Think of it this way.....If you break your leg you may not know its broke till it starts swelling up (or the imense pain comming from your leg) same with the car but the swelling wont happen till you start pulling sheetmetal further away from the initial hit area.....IE, you could have a smashed front end and no upper siderail damage on the frame but the core support my be pushed in so your hood latch wont work......These are just examples, if your not sure take it to a body shop.......

Hope that helps.....

-Jeff

think about what you just said for a second. if your rear bumper support is bent, then it's bent. your frame COULD be bent, but it doesn't mean your frame is bent since your bumper support is bent.
