Mixing clutches and pressure plates..help
Ok so here's the deal I have an Sr20det redtop rwd s13 and a stage 3 spec sprung clutch. I dont want the sprung clutch I prefer unsprung but cannot find any vendors that sell spec clutch disks separately.. I found an ACT 6 puck unsprung disk and it looks about the same just wondering if you could mix match why or why not. And if there's any other recommended clutch disks lmk

Personally, I don't see why you want something unsprung unless its just a track car. You should be alright mixing and matching discs/PP as long as they are the same size (240mm)

I've read reviews and people have told me about the springs shooting out. And on my 500hp Sr I wouldn't want to risk it :/
Also is it the pp or clutch that determines torque rating.. sorry kinda a noob still at clutches. |

Both pieces do. The amount of friction the material on the disc generates along with how hard it's pressed onto the flywheel by the pressure plate. Those give you the clutches hp rating. Sprung clutches are for street driving. Unsprung are for track/drifting. Compromise is key

An unsprung clutch on an sr with 500hp will break the trans in 2 weeks, tops. If you insist on using that transmission, use a sprung clutch. SR transmissions are glass as it is... The unsprung clutches just add to that problem.

I already have the complete mazworx Sr to vg kit with one piece upgraded 3 inch steel driveshaft
![]() I guess I just want a good replacement clutch because im afraid of the spring not holding up. And Idk if ACT will do the trick. disk is fairly new. |

yes you can mix & match. Discs are discs. As long as dia. is the same & spline count is. for SR.
Clutch net got them discs for cheap!!!
