s13 swapping z32 na internals into a open diff carier?

Ive done alot of reasearch about swapping z32 na and j30 guts into a open diff carrier and I have come to the conclusion that it can be done, although this is the first time for me doing this swap, I am just asking what problems may I come by when doing this swap.
I have a z32 na vlsd pumpkin with abs and with the 5 star outputs.
I know this z32 na abs pumkin wont fit into a s13 because of the abs sensor thats at the front of the z32 na carier, a abs drive shaft is shorter and wont fit because my s13 is non abs.
So what I plan to do is swap the z32 internals ino the open diff carrier.
Ive noticed and also heard that u swap the open diff ring gear replacing the z32 diff ring gear.
thats the only thing that I noticed because on both ring gears it says 49:12 same, so that seems that they will swap without problems.
any other problems that I may encounter?
And also after removing the bearing caps when removing the diff, whats the process of popping out the diff, because I noticed its pretty wedged in there, Im having a bit of trouble removing it.

um, you dont have a z32 vlsd if the abs sensor is on the nose...the abs sensor on the z diff is on the output shafts. Also the z32 diff has the same gear ratio as an open diff, 4.08. Swapping it into a open diff housing wont solve the 5 bolt flange issue if u havent takin care of that already or if thats what ur hopin to do.

so, it seems u have a j3o diff by ur description..it has been shown that u can put those into 240's even tho there is the extra length.

The Z32NA pumpkin will bolt up, but it has to have the 240sx's diff cover swapped on it. The output shafts will work, but they cannot be mated to the 240sx axles (Z32 uses a 5 star with 5 bolts, 240sx uses a 3 star with 2 bolts on each star-point) and you cannot use the Z32NA axles...they are too long. Therefore you need the five bolt axles from a JDM180sx or J30....or you can purchase the 3 star VLSD output shafts from somewhere and mate them to your 240sx's axles.
www.car-parts.com will have the J30 axles, I belive you will need pre 95 axles.

I have gotten 5 star axles from a freind, I tried to use the 300zx axles but they were a inch and a half to long.
my freind happen to have 180sx kouki axles.
hmm so u say I have a j30 pumkin, I figured it was the j30, u see I bought this vlsd off ebay, then the seller was a rip off and sends me 300zx axles and what supose to be a 300zx na pumkin is a j30.
but doesent the j30 come with diffrent out puts, not the five star?
maybe the guy put 5 star vlsd outputs in the j30 pumkin?
and my bad, I got another 180sx kouki vlsd pumkin that I also got from my freind,I noticed the ring gear inside the pumkin of the j30 diff is alot fatter than the open diff ring gear.
doing reasearch it says swap the ring gear, so I compared the 180sx ring gear to the open diff, they look the same size and have 49:12 printed both, so I see no problem with them swapping.

yeah, the way u described it, its a j30, pre95 j30's had the 5 star output shafts, and they have 3.91 ratio, minimal difference.

why is ur s13 vlsd trashed? cause otherwise its the same thing..., but if it is, just swap the whole z32 pumpkin in and use the s13 vlsd output shafts and ur current axles

nah its not trashed, Im gonna swap the 180sx vlsd in today, it also has 5 star outputs, but since I have the j30 diff I mine as well swap the guts into the open diff punkin to have a extra vlsd on the side, plus I like working on this kind of stuff.
btw Im using the 180sx axles that are 5 star, so when I swap the j30 guts into the open diff Im gonna use the j30 5 star out puts since I have 180sx axles that match.
