s13 Will ground control coil overs from a honda crx work on an 89 240sx?

My friend has some ground control coil overs from his honda crx just laying around, and i am wondering will they fit on a stock 89 240sx strut? ( people tell me they will work) (My car has monster wheel gap, I cant stand it any more!!! lol) If they fit would it be safe? considering the 240sx weight is so much more than the crx? thanks

do what I did, instead of buying the ground controls for the CRX, (because they are really unsafe to use on a 240, and you'll end up with a higher ride height than stock, unless you get 240 specific ones) ...So I cut four coils off the front of the car, and four coils off the rear of the car. It rides fine, and since you plan on getting some suspension later, that will help get rid of the monster truck wheel gap that plague stock 240s. 4 coils off in front, and 4 coils off in the back, less than 4 won't do much of a difference.

GC makes quality products, their coilovers combined with AGX give a nice combination for under 800 bucks, and a lot of people use it especially for AutoX setups.

Springs don't make a car ride like crap, owners that don't know how to match up a shock to that spring make it ride like crap.

Just do us all a favor and save your money for a suspension designed for a 240. I remember a kid back in highschool wanted to sell me a LSD from a Civic... lol

That's why Ground Control is used on most champion autox cars?

GC makes good stuff,,, if you get the right setup they custom make the spring rates for you so if you are buying second-hand you don't get that privelage

the only thing bad about GC they aren't JDM tyte which most ppls here will bowdown to.. but they are made by eibach (springs) and eibach prokits have been proven.

overall they are good for the money.. if you already have AGX plus lets say tiens springs and want to upgrade its a good idea.. if you have stock suspesion its most likely better to spend an extra 2-300 and get full coilovers and not just sleeve coilovers

ground controls are nothing but eibach springs on a can with threads. It's the eibach springs that make them what they are.

i just found out GC offers steel sleeves with their kits. it costs a little more but i'd say it's worth it to be safe if you're racing rather than the aluminum threads.

It is the springs that matter.. but having the choice of any spring rate you want when you buy GC's is what makes them sweet.

Koni's or AGX's and GC's with custom spring rates are probably run on more race cars in the SCCA than any other setup.

just get some used coilovers, you probably want mad slammed drop anyways, the GC setup will never be able to do that, period. besides, you would need some short stroke shocks to drop it and those are rare to find. SO just get some used coilovers or something.

dude you shut up(saying it in a nice way) you can GC set up so low that you drag your frame rails. you just gotta know what to ask for when you call them. plus it depends on what your shocks can handle. s13 have shitty shock travel when lowered so you'd have to get a sick wit it shock

to the guy that asked this question. I know you're just starting out obviously and stuff. but I mean come on. if you could use the Ground Control coilovers for a crx on a 240sx do you thing GC would really be making both sets of coilovers? I mean come on. crx and nissan aren't even made by the same company and aren't even the same style drivetrain (crx-fwd 240sx-rwd). I'm not trying to be a dick but think before you ask these style questions. I understand that other people told you they would work but they were probably just joking with you to see if you'd believe them.

Notice I said setup (that would include any shock). From what I recall, You cant drop on shocks, you will blow em, now if thats ok, then yes you are correct I think you probably could scrap the frame. But I know people that cant get that much drop on GC and they wonder whats wrong. Please post a picture of a slammed s13 on GC then I will shut up. =)

I am going to buy full coil overs, but I was just looking for a quick fix for that wheel gap. So for all the people who helped thanks, and for all the people who didnt help, or tryed to be funny
