s14 SSR Professor Sp1's...some questions.....

I'm working towards possibly getting these wheels and was wondering a few things about them. My future set-up will include the following...

. Tein HE coilovers
. 300zx brakes up front
. Ings wide front fenders (forgot offhand how much larger than stock they are..anyone know offhand?)

I was wondering which ofsets to go with for both front and rear....attaining the fluch look (as close os possible atleast)

Front: 17x9 Offsets offered: +21, +28, +35, +40

Rear: 17x10 Offsets offered: +15, +35, +45

....will fender rolling/pulling be in order as well possibly?? Sorry for yet another offset question..just something I have yet to grasp....lol

.....oh....and anyone know the pricing on these wheels by chance??

Thanks guys..

-Bill

Pricing at Gruppe-s is the best I have found on these wheels.

So 17x9......0 offset (can you have them custom made???)...depending on how wide the fenders are.....

...and couple that with 18x10 +15 out back....hmmmm.....sounds like a plan to me. These wheels are cheaper than that of the Racing Hart Cr so...time to start saving

So in final.....best bet

Front: 18x9 +3
Rear: 18x10 +11

?????....not exactly what you suggested, but can't se a couple of MM making HUGE difference...

Now I need to know if these wil clear coilovers and Z brakes....

*EDIT*....Aaron...I just found the thread on Fa with the dude who has them on his Kouki. He went with 18x9 +6 and 18x10 +11. He is was getting the Vertex 12mm overfenders up front. If the Ings is 20~25 mm how much more will I have to compensate offset wise form mine??...will the +3 work??

And on the rear the +11 looks great especially after he rolls the fenders a bit. I don't like the stretched tire look so goin with atleast a 255 or so would be better IMO...just have to pull a little more than he will have to right??

well few things to think about:

rear wont fit stock fender
you need to get wide rear
now if you DONT get wide rear efnder, you'll have maybe MORE lip on the front wheels then rear (looks goofy)
so go wide rear too..like 30mm ones probably
haha
but theno ffsets get confusing..and even for me. im stuck

but with wide fronts, +3 is ok

BOTH will DEFINATELY clear coilovers
its z brakes i dont know, depends on SPOKE design NOT offset.

where's heartwork? he is good at this stuff!
http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.p...threadid=43490
he has pulled rears and running 10" +13

so you should be ok, now if you get WIDE rear fenders, you cna go lower offset, but how much, dont know
wait till heartwork gets his wheels on his car, then go from there

I really want to avoid getting wide rears.....too much for me ( Is that ok to say here??...LOL)....I guess I'll have to wait and see how his installation and thoughts go afterwards....

Does he have Z brakes by chance...the question of the day it seems...lol

I can almost GUARANTEE you that these will clear Z-brakes. Professor SP-1 have a nice curved spoke, and I see them clear (at least in magazines/from far away) the biggest of calipers. They're new school wheels too, which TEND to clear large calipers. (Z32 calipers really aren't that big!)
If they don't fit, you can send them to me. Nah. If they don't fit (which they WILL), they won't need more than a 5mm spacer... or less.

I emailed INGS about the pic in their add for the Zenki with the wheels and offset.

Here is what the reply stated and please keep in mind that they were japanese translating what i emailed them.

Dear Sir.

It appreciates a really grateful proposal.
I am sorry that an answer is delayed.

It answers your question.
We have a S14 M/C zenki type.
As for the aluminium wheel which is here about this car.

RAYS GRAMLIGHTS 57 PRO
F: 18X 9.0J +0 (TIRE SIZE 225/40R18)
R: 18X10.0J +10(TIRE SIZE 235/40R18)

One side 5cm grows big with FENDER.

It can be purchased directly from Japan.

Ok i know this isn't the SSR Professor but the offset does help.

Z brakes should fit, I've seen an S14 with SSR Profs. Its been a while and I don't remember the specs though. No clue if the brakes are Z brakes but they weren't stock calipers or rotors.

And they were 18s in the rear (front should be 18 too)

Here is a pic of the front, might be 17s but lost most of the pics I had of the car. I'll try and ask the owner for wheel specs next time I talk to him.

i have 18x10 +13, 245-40-18 in rear of my S14...
keep in mind i PULLED the fenders out alot, dunno how much, but just about perfect enough to tuck the tire, but with the lip of the rim super flush against the fender, if not poking out a mm or two...

not sure on camber settings yet because i havent gotten around to alignment yet, but it is indeed alot more than stock

with 255-40-18, your gonna have to PULL alot MORE than i did cause im cutting it real close

here's mine:

18x9 +20 225-40-18 up front, barely clears Z32 brakes

Clearance with the z32 brakes aren't that bad on those rims. I've seen worse, like some jackass putting Sentra spec v rims on his s14 and having to shave the nissan logo off to clear.

These rims have different "disk" settings which determine brake clearance: SL, MD, NR and HR. IIRC the MD is the one that will clear the z brakes
