Clutch Slave Keeps Leaking, I Keep Replacing.
UPDATE
So i replaced everything because my old master was leaking as well. So new master cylinder, steel clutch line, and a brand new nismo slave. Bled out all the air and topped out the master. Start my car all happy put clutch in and put it in first (almost had to force it in) look back and the wheels were spinnin. Thank god i was still on the lift or i would ended up in a wall lmfao. Anyone have any clue wtf is happening now? The clutch stopped engaging after i installed the nismo slave. i bled it all morning today with no difference. Anyone know if the sr/ka nismo works with an rb20? Bolted right up yet my cheap napa slave was engaging the clutch better. Also imnot getting much pressure when bleeding from the slave. You're probably hyper-extending them out. Take the slave cylinder pin out, find something to replace it with that is slightly longer. I've used bolts before when I was having something like this happen on my SR a while back.

Are you using OEM clutch line or aftermarkter stainless steel replacement? I bought one of these a while back that would always leak at the threads.

Are you using a heavier than stock pressure plate or constantly clutch kicking? It sounds like the cylinder seals can't handle the stress being put on them. I bought my 240 with a Nismo slave already installed on the RB25 transmission. It's been going strong even with the increased strain of a HD clutch pressure plate. Several months ago, while driving, my clutch pedal went flat. I got out, looked under my car, saw the clutch fork hanging funny (I had broken the fork pivot ball), and my slave cylinder pin was overextended to the point where it was being held on by only the slave boot. My transmission shop didn't believe the slave cylinder could still be used but I refused to buy a new one. I got the pivot ball replaced, pushed the slave cylinder pin back in, bled the clutch line, and it's been working flawlessly ever since. Nismo slaves might be kinda $$$ but they seem to be bulletproof. Try thenismoshop.com. According to their website, the RB20 uses the same cylinder as the RB25??? I've always thought the RB20 used a smaller cylinder. Might have to check the RB FAQs on that one.

i know you have an rb20 but..are you still using your clutch dampener?
i was having a problem with that, ended up just removing it. btw, i have a slave cylinder for sale if you're interested later on.

i got rb25 with rb20 tranny.
my old csc would leak all my fluid and i would constantly loose clutch pressure, so i replaced it with the autozone one. i went to the local autozone and picked up a normal s13 clutch slave cylinder (15 bucks) and it bolted up just fine. bled it and a few days ago went to PARC drifting event and clutch kicked all day and held up fine... |

Sounds like it hasn't been bled properly. Was the new master cylinder bench bled before it was installed? The clutch line dampener (if you still have it) takes a lot of fluid and can be difficult to bleed. Keep bleeding the crap out of the cylinder, clutch line, and dampener. It'll work.

I've never bench bled the master (never replaced a master cylinder) but I hear say it's a very important part of the bleeding process. With no dampener installed and no air bubbles left in the line, I would assume the master cylinder not being bench bled is the problem.

also my clutch pedal does have regular pedal feel in it but i think there still might be some air in the system not letting the slave to push the fork in all the way. |

also:
i originally JUST replaced the slave cylinder with a nismo one and had this same exact problem. the clutch wasnt completely engaging. thats why i just replaced the CMC because it had horrible sludge and i assumed that it was simply air not letting me engage the clutch. even with a leaking slave cylinder it was engaging 10 times better than with my brand new nismo slave. any reason as to why the nismo slave would not push the clutch fork all the way? |

Just bled the piss outta it and the clutch is still not engaging. It seems my slave isnt pushing the fork out all the way. Anyone ever have a problem with a nismo slave on a rb20?
