pillowball mounts....

well, my friends are telling me that you can only use pillowball mounts on macpherson strut suspension, like wrx and porsche has...and the 240sx has a front independent strut suspension with coil springs....basically he is saying the pillowball mounts are not needed because they dont do anything on independent suspensions. I've seen a lot of 240sx owners with pillowball mounts, so I'm trying to figure out who is right. I'm in the process of planning my future strut setup, so any insight is appreciated.

instead of reading a bunch of queer honda crap i'm gonna tell you that teh 240 has mcpherson struts. they bolt directly to the hub assembly and all that crap, independant suspensions are like the 350Z, we have the cheaper kind found in most cars today.

240 uses modified mcpherson strut that what the term is or at least what ive been told.

So pillowball is a much improvement to our cars.

Your friend is dumb and should burn.

Thats a negative, ghost rider. When you hear manufacturers talk about pillowball upper mounts, they will likely be talking about Macpherson suspension applications, which dude's Si does not have. Pillowball upper mounts are useless on control arm suspensions, and so are not offered with them.
So, when was the 240 mentioned?

I was told that the 240 has that suspension, and going off the link my friend gave me, I deducted that the pillowball wouldnt work. It didnt DIRECTLY say the 240 wouldn't benefit, I guess that was my fault for not looking more into it myself

so for sure tho, pillowball mounts are definitely worth it if you are upgrading the struts....I was looking at AGX with prokits, I was told those would suit my driving needs the best. I also looked into the tein SS or tein flex, which is why my friend pointed me to that honduh thread. Thankx guys.

240sx is McPherson. Don't ever listen to a Honda owner for tech info.

my last car was an accord, but that doesn't mean i'm a gay ricer. I kept it stock and it made the perfect college car, except I got in a wreck. But no worries, because thats how I got my kouki So i guess since my friend has a civic si with tein suspension that makes ME somehow related, then i guess...but I belive the question I asked was what worked best on a 240sx, so if that is a honda then....
